Forgetting Sarah Marshall

Forgetting Sarah Marshall follows the ups and downs of life of Peter Bretter (Jason Segel). Terribly broken by his recent break up with a TV sitcom actress and very popular-Sarah Marshall (Kristen Bell) Peter needs something to aide in his recovery. Encouraged by his whipped married Step Brother Brian (Bill Hader), Peter decides to take a Hawaiin Vacation.

Arriving at a luxurious hotel in Hawaii Peter is shocked to find his Ex-Sarah attending the sunny beach side resort with another man Aldous Snow (Russell Brand). Aldous is a famous rock musician with an English accent and a very big ego.

Deciding to persevere through own stupidity Peter decides to stay within close proximity to Sarah and Aldous. As Sarah and Aldous build on their relationship, which started long before the “break up”, the knife is driven deeper into Peter’s heart.

Possibly blinded by his sorrows, Peter neglects to realize he has captured the eyes of Rachel Jansen (Mila Kunis), a desk attendant at the luxurious resort. Peter starts finding himself and moving on as he spends more and more time with Rachel. Not going unnoticed, Sarah begins to feel jealous as she realizes what a neat guy Peter really is and the fact that she now dates a super cool rockstar that thinks nothing of women except for one thing…

So here is my take on Forgetting Sarah Marshall and the reasons I did not like the film:

Raunch Humor! So I expected it with Nicholas Stoller Directing, but still. I didn’t appreciate the crudeness, but I must say I felt in the minority as the theater uproared with laughter multiple times.

Pushing the envelope. Much different than most films I must say, but 3 full frontal nudity shots of Peter Bretter. Added merely for shock value.

Jonah Hill-alright this guy can be funny, but he gets placed lowest on the totem pole and makes himself look terrible as if he should not even exist.

Slamming of marriage and relationships.

Taking the liberty to make fun of the Christian newly weds who chose to abstain until marriage.

I must say, Forgetting Sarah Marshall is one that I much rather forget than play over in my head. If you are in to watching raunch humor-check it out-but I still would not recommend it.
