In The Shadow Of The Moon is more a series of recollections; storytelling by those famed few who have visited another world, rather than a straight out chronological history of the Apollo projects. And itβs a better documentary for it. Seeing these spry old men β most in their seventies β recalling their adventures and looking trimmer and more grounded than most men half their age is a joy. Adding to that remastered film β some of it never seen before of the preparation for and the actual moon landings make this documentary a visual feast that conjures up the excitement and awe of the day, whilst helping ground those unfamiliar with a little of the history and reasons why America undertook this amazing engineering challenge.
