Second-Hand Wedding is a romantic comedy centered around garage sales. It is a lighthearted film that I believe is centered around Wellington.

There are a number of storylines intertwined within the interactions of the Rose family, but the main storyline centers around Cheryl Rose’ fear of her domineering mum Jill, turning her perfect wedding into a secondhand embarrassment. Miss Rose was recently proposed to by her mechanic boyfriend Stew Davis, but the drama begins when she fears telling her mum. In the effort to avoid her mum taking control and ruining her wedding reception, Cheryl accidentally hurts her mum’s feelings and books an overpriced hall. This is a story of redeeming relationships and caring for those you love.

Second-Hand Wedding is a great film for women, although it has enough humor to keep the men entertained. The starring roles give the female audience a strong picture of women, romance, and their relationship struggles. The men can rely on the comic relief of the actors in supporting roles including Jill Rose’s husband Bryan and Stew Davis’ work mates. It is also a very clean and enjoyable film making it appropriate for all ages.

There are a number of other storylines that provide added enjoyment for the audience, but those will be left for the actual viewing. There is a guest appearance by kiwi classic John Rowles and plenty of drama to add to the plot.

The only complaint I have is that the sound effects and contrast of Cheryl’s childhood flashback and dream were too dramatic. They went overboard and overdramatized these scenes to a comical extent. It will cause a majority of the audience to laugh at the film rather than laugh with or engage the film.
