Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kim Cattrall and Kristin Davis have signed contracts for a Sex and the City movie sequel, movie studio New Line Cinema has confirmed.
New Line said writer-director Michael Patrick King has also signed a contract to write the script for the latest installment of a money-spinning franchise that includes a TV series and a book by Candace Bushnell.
The movie followed the highly successful HBO television series of the same name about the love lives of four single women in New York City.
It met with lukewarm reviews upon its US release in May 2008, but won the hearts of movie fans and grossed $415 million at worldwide box offices.
Entertainment website E! Online said shooting was expected to begin this summer with a release date in 2010. [stuff]
