March 18th 2009 will mark a special day for the family of Natasha Bray, one of the seven victims of the Mangatepopo River tragedy in April last year, with the premiere screening of a documentary shot in her memory. Jumping In Puddles is a deeply moving look at who Natasha was and the part that the tragedy played in her story as told through the eyes of her parents, friends and survivor Kish Proctor; but more than that, it is an opportunity to see into the heart of a young girl who had a vision to change her community. Her phrase, ‘to Jump in Puddles’ has proven an inspiration to people across the nation. Nick Hitchins, co-producer of the film was humbled and privileged to spend time with the family as they retraced Natasha’s final steps and made their farewells, “it is an incredible thing to see a family who believes so strongly that in sharing their grief and the knowledge of who their daughter was, the wider community can be touched,” says Hitchins, “from the moment we first heard this story we knew beyond doubt it was something that could speak to the heart of everyone who wants to make the most out of life.” Documentary producer, Jonathan Warner said, “we’ve really worked hard to faithfully tell Natasha’s story and juxtapose the tragedy of a life lost with the beauty of the surroundings in which it all occurred.” The Creation Films team joined together with a wide variety of individuals to produce the documentary, which will be made available on DVD after the April 15th anniversary of the disaster. Tickets for the premiere event are on sale now through Berkley Cinemas Botany (09) 488 6000 or via the website www.jumpinginpuddles.tv
