Earlier this week, Paramount penciled in “Transformers 3″ for July 1, 2011, even while acknowledging that no cast had yet been attached. A few days later, director Michael Bay took issue with the date.
“Paramount made a mistake,” Bay wrote on his blog. “They asked me on the phone, (and) I said yes to July 4 (weekend) — but for 2012. Whoops, not 2011! That would mean I would have to start prep in September. No way. My brain needs a break from fighting robots.”
The first sequel – “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” – is set for release on June 25, with Shia LaBoeuf and Megan Fox reprising their roles. [thr]
