My family and I have enjoyed watching Kyle XY since it first made it’s appearance on kiwi television screen’s a couple of years ago. It’s great to see a story about what life is like for someone who has been protected all their lives and emerges as a teenager into our world. Kyle appears to be, whilst highly intelligent, very socially inept. It reminds me a lot of what it’s like to live with someone with Aspergers Syndrome (high-functioning autism), and maybe that is why I enjoyed the television series so much.
In season two, just as Kyle appears to be adjusting to life better, we learn there is a new kid on the block just like him. Jessi emerges from the bombed out science lab, which also held Kyle captive for all his growing up years. She has even more difficulty adjusting to life outside the pod than Kyle did, perhaps, because there is no loving family to help her. She is taken under the wing by Emily, who works for Madacorp, the “evil” group behind what has happened to them both.
The Trager’s who took Kyle into their family last season, are still interesting in season two. I particularly liked the storyline they took with Josh and his new girlfriend Andy. But, you’ll have to watch the DVD’s to see what happens there.
A fantastic viewing pleasure, with only a few questions about Kyle answered. You are left wondering as the tagline say’s: Who is Kyle XY? Bring on Season 3, I say!
