The Smithsonian Institution in Washington contains the world’s largest museum complex containing more than 136 million items, and as such, makes the perfect location for a sequel to Ben Stiller’s very funny Night At The Museum.
Night 2 starts off with Security guard Larry Daley now a successful ‘inventor’ peddling his own wares on his successful infomercials. Such is hi success that he hasn’t had much time to visit his friends at the museum for a while. When he does get round to paying them a visit, he discovers that they are all being boxed up and sent for storage at the Smithsonian Institution.
Sadly there is nothing he can do to stop what’s already been set in motion, and returns to his life as a successful business man. But one night he gets a phone call from one of his old friends, and it sounds like he’s in trouble. Larry Daley knows what he has to do; he has to infiltrate The Smithsonian and make sure his friends are ok.
Hilarity by way of slapstick comedy ensues, as we meet a whole bunch of new characters locked in a battle of good vs evil.
Night At The Museum 2 is one of those rare gems; a sequel that is as good, if not better than the original. If you, like me, enjoyed the first Museum, then The Smithsonian is going to tickle you funny bone quite nicely. All the old characters are back, and a host of new ones are there, along with the very plucky Amelia Earhart and for all those tweenage girls, Kevin. Nick and Joe Jonas also have small but significant roles!
