Aaron Eckhart plays the role of Dr. Burke Ryan – a self-help author who is badgered into hosting one of his seminars in Seattle by his manager. The reason he never wanted to go anywhere hear Seattle? He might just bump into his father-in-law. And guess what? He does.
But it’s ok, because he also bumps into Eloise Chandler (Aniston), a quirky florist who he (of course) falls in love with.
There’s a lot going on in this city that Ryan has been avoiding like the plague, for one his manager has arranged for some big shot TV producers to come down and ink a deal for a syndicated TV show – Ryan is about to hit the big time.
But of course he’s going to have to hold it together, and with this new love interest and he father-in-law hanging around he might just have to face up to some facts – particularly the fact the he’ a hypocrite who can;t face up to what he tells everyone else they have to face up to in his seminar and best selling book.
Of course, this is a light hearted rom-com, so the ending is fairly predictable, but it manages to pack a bit more emotion into the story than your standard fare, so be warned ladies, you might have to have a pack of tissue handy.
