Thanks to the runaway success of The Walking Dead, and the fact that Zombieland was originally envisaged as a TV show, the much talked about Zombieland sequel looks likes it’s headed to the small screen as a television series.
According to /Film, Fox and Sony Pictures Television are developing a “potential half-hour comedy” based on the film. Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick will write, and the American 2012-13 season is the theoretical airtime.
I’m not going to start making out with the couch Tom Cruise style just yet, but I’m interested enough in the concept to want it to work. Lets just hope Sony give Reese and Weernick the creative freedom and budget that they need to deliver a show as good as the film was.
